HUGH BONNEVILLE spent the early part of his career working in the West End as well as the National Theatre the Royal Shakespeare Company and in regional theatre, including Chichester. He is a familiar face on television, having played leading roles in Daniel Deronda, Tipping The Velvet, the Commander, and Philip Lurking: Love Again, His work ranges from comedies like The Vicar of Dibley and freezing to hard-hitting dramas such as Tsunami.- The Aftermath. and Five Days, Recently he played the former director of the BBC Hugh Carleton Greene in The Mary Whitehouse Story, with Julie Walters, and stared as Mr. Bennet in ITV1's romantic drama, Lost in Austen.

 

Hugh has appeared in many feature films and received a BAFTA nomination for Iris but is perhaps best known for his role as the dozy stockbroker Bernie in the hugely successful Notting Hill with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant Future releases include Hippie­Hippie Shake, French Film and Shanghai.

 

Hugh is delighted at becoming a Patron of Centre Stage Academy. "The Academy provides a great opportunity for young people of Midhurst and the surrounding areas to explore and develop their theatrical skills and I applaud what Brett East and his colleagues have already achieved, It's just what the town needs, I have no doubt that the Academy will grow and flourish in the months and years ahead and I am thrilled to be associated with such a dynamic organisation.
